The First Lady of British Jazz, Claire Martin, is widely regarded as the best jazz singer of her generation.   Claire has won countless awards and continues to receive acclaim from peers and press alike.   Claire received the Rising Star Award at the British Jazz Awards in 1994, the Best Vocalist Award at the British Jazz Awards in 1995, 1997, 2000 & 2002 and Vocalist of the Year at the BBC Jazz Awards in 2003, which Claire presented in 2004.   Claire has also presented the jazz magazine show “Jazz Line-Up” for BBC Radio 3 since 2000 and more recently presented a BBC Radio 2 show on the life and works of Harold Arlen.

Claire has performed and recorded with a wide variety of outstanding musicians, including Sir Richard Rodney Bennett, Noel Gallagher, Ian Shaw, and John Martyn as well as fellow Linn artists, Clark Tracey, Martin Taylor and Gerard Presencer.   Her phrasing, musicianship, inventiveness, style, intelligence and wit have all been singled out as reasons why Claire Martin is one of Britain's finest voices.
